PRIVACY POLICY

COOKIE POLICY

As Volante, we have provided information on the types of cookies used on our website ( https://volante.com.tr/ ), why cookies are used, and how to manage these cookies in order to comply with the obligations under the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK).

This Cookie Policy explains the cookies used to provide a better service to website visitors and to provide a functional online environment, and explains how personal data obtained in accordance with the KVKK is processed and the legal rights and powers of the user.

What is a Cookie?

A cookie is a text file stored on a website's hard drive or in a browser folder when a website is visited. Cookies are intended to make the service offered to website visitors faster and more functional. Cookies provide a personalized online environment tailored to each website visitor. Visitors can set and change their preferences regarding the use of cookies. Similarly, visitors have the right to request the deletion of cookies.

Types of Cookies

Cookies can be classified as cookies according to the purpose they serve, the period for which the data is kept, and the sources from which they are created.

Cookies According to Their Purpose

In this classification based on the purpose of using cookies, strictly necessary cookies, preference cookies, statistical cookies and marketing cookies are explained.

Strictly Necessary Cookies

Strictly necessary cookies are cookies required for features such as browsing the website and accessing secure areas. When shopping online in e-commerce stores, user-selected items must be stored for the next step before the transaction can be completed. Cookies that allow items to be stored in the shopping cart on e-commerce sites are examples of strictly necessary cookies. Strictly necessary cookies are generally first-party session cookies. While consent is not required for these cookies, the reason for the cookie's use and its necessity should be explained to the user.

Preference Cookies

They allow the website to remember past choices (username, password, preferred language, etc.). Preference cookies, which enable automatic login to the website, are also called functional cookies.

Statistics Cookies

Statistical cookies, also known as performance cookies, are cookies that provide anonymous statistical data about website usage. Statistical cookies can track how users use the website, including the pages they visit and the links they click. Anonymized statistical cookies are not used to identify the website user. The purpose of these cookies is to improve website functionality.

Marketing Cookies

Marketing cookies are cookies that allow advertisers to serve ads based on user interests. Statistical data about the ads a website user encounters, including data obtained through marketing cookies, may be shared with other organizations or advertisers. These cookies are permanent and can be stored.

Cookies According to Their Storage Period

Cookies are divided into two categories: session cookies and persistent cookies, based on the retention period. Session cookies differ from persistent cookies in that they provide temporary, instantaneous data.

Session Cookies

Session cookies provide data that can be stored until the user closes the browser or ends the session. They are short-term cookies.

Persistent Cookies

Persistent cookies are cookies that remain on the device's drive until the cookie is deleted by the user or until the cookie's specified expiration date is reached. Persistent cookies have a variable expiration date written into their code. According to the e-Privacy Directive, persistent cookies should not last longer than 12 months.

Cookies by Source

First Party Cookies

As the name suggests, first-party cookies are placed on the device directly by the website being visited.

Third Party Cookies

Third-party cookies are cookies placed on the device by a third party, such as an advertiser or analytics system, and not by the website visited.

Why Are Cookies Used?

As is the case with most websites, bilincsel.com.tr ("Site") and the mobile application (collectively referred to as the "Platform") use Cookies to display personalized content and advertisements to visitors, to perform analytical activities within the site, and to track visitor usage habits.

On the Platform, Cookies are used for the following purposes:

  • To perform the basic functions necessary for the Platform's operation. For example, Volante members should avoid losing items in their shopping carts during their visit. Logged-in members should not need to re-enter their passwords when visiting different pages on the Platform.

  • Analyze the Platform and improve its performance. For example, by integrating the different servers on which the Platform runs, determining the number of visitors to the Platform and adjusting performance accordingly, or making it easier for visitors to find what they are looking for.

  • To increase the functionality of the Platform and ensure ease of use. For example, sharing content on third-party social media channels through the Platform, remembering the username or search queries of visitors to the Platform on subsequent visits.

  • To carry out personalisation, targeting and advertising activities. For example, showing visitors advertisements related to their interests based on the pages and products they view.
